One of the perks of being a guest at Kantishna Roadhouse is the amazing array of speakers at our evening programs. We regularly feature artists, historians, Athabascan elders and other folks from the area who are knowledgeable about the regional geology, history, arts, topography and more.
Earlier this month, we welcomed Jennifer and Andrew LaBar, an adventurous Alaska couple who successfully summited Denali last summer. They brought ALL of their gear with them and did a slideshow presentation on two evenings about what it takes to climb the mountain. During the day they treated visitors to ‘show-and-tell’ on the lawn. Andrew and Jen had the porch filled with people asking questions about climbing and what type of gear they use. Thanks to Jen and Andrew and all of the interesting and informative people who make our evening lecture series an important part of the Kantishna Roadhouse experience.
