Kantishna Roadhouse Highlights Sustainability and Indigenous Stewardship in 2024 ESG Report

Kantishna Roadhouse Lodge

Kantishna Roadhouse, proudly owned and operated by Doyon, Limited—the regional Alaska Native corporation for Interior Alaska—has released its 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report. This publication underscores the lodge’s dedication to sustainability, cultural heritage, and innovative guest experiences.

Following the 2021 Pretty Rocks landslide, which disrupted road access to Denali National Park, Kantishna Roadhouse transitioned to a fly-in-only model. This shift not only ensured continued operations but also enhanced the exclusivity of the guest experience, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the remote beauty of Denali with minimal distractions.

The ESG report details the lodge’s initiatives, including sourcing local food, minimizing digital connectivity to foster deeper connections with nature, and maintaining practices that reflect Indigenous values and stewardship. These efforts contributed to Kantishna Roadhouse being featured in TIME magazine’s “World’s Greatest Places of 2024.”
